Are your animals fully vetted?
In a case by case situation the animal will be fully vetted. All animals are quarantined 14 days out of the shelter. Most dogs will be spayed or neutered*, checked for heartworm status, de-parasitized, and are age-appropriate vaccinated with DA2PPV and rabies. *Our veterinarian will make a determination if a dog is restricted from a surgical procedure because of age or health.
How can a rescue arrange to pull an animal(s) from you?
Please use the request process to submit an email with the animal(s) you are interested in and we will contact you with details.
I am not a rescue - can I adopt one of these animals?
Yes. Please use our contact form and include the name/intake number of the animal you are interested in.
How is transport handled?
We have multiple trusted agencies that we work with to fly or drive an animal to its destination. If you have means to provide your own transport that is always best, as we do incur costs when using our agencies.
What if I see an animal on the Fulton County Animal Services website that I'm interested in?
It's always best to pull directly from the shelter when you are able to as it immediately provides much needed space for the many animals coming into FCAS every day. However, we are glad to quarantine a group of animals for 14 days with a commitment from rescue.
