There is so much to do! Our first transport is already lined up! 22 dogs to Animal Haven in NY and one very lucky German Sheppard to Animals For Life in CT. We love our rescues so much!! Other dogs are lined up to go and we can't wait to lock down dates. With all of this we have had little time to stay on top of the web site. Lucky for us Atlanta Beagle Rescue loves us and has done a wonderful job working on the site.
Have you seen our Amazon store? Anytime you need to buy anything at all from Amazon, click on our store; we will get a little bit of funds, and you still get the awesome deals from Amazon. We see this as win-win situation. We also have an Amazon wish list set up that ships right to us. So now anyone anywhere and help the GA dogs.
And speaking of help, PBR For Pups is right around the corner! Can you believe it's almost November? Time seems to have to have flashed by since we have stared this project in July. That is time flashed by for us, not so fast for the many dogs at the shelters looking and waiting for a home. We celebrate our small victories but can't stop thinking of the ones we have lost. Fulton County Animal Shelter is working so hard to get people to spay and neuter with their SNAP program. Fulton County just passed a law making it illegal to chain a dog and the Shelter has been spending countless hours talking to people in need of education and guidance. The big picture is hard to grasp. While a dog
waits in a pen or on a chain for a nice pat on the head, all we can offer is this - we will never stop trying. For every 50 rescues we call, one might have a space. For ever 5 adopters we talk to, one might be the right home. And for every time we fail, a lesson will be learned. Together we will make it better. We can't thank everyone enough for their support, love, and help as we get off the ground. If every day is better then the last I can't wait to see where we will be in 5 years.
While were speaking of progress, I have to tell you about Stevie. Some of you have met him and others might have heard his story - but if you know nothing at all about him, let me tell you. Stevie Wonder is a blind puppy we pulled from Fulton County Animal Shelter. His chances of being adopted were slim and there was talk of giving up. I was glad to put him on the bus over to our little shelter. He spent his first day zipped into my hoodie, and every day after being carried everywhere by our staff. His blindness looked to be from trauma to his head with major scaring on his eyes. But good news -- the scaring has cleared up! He is seeing more and more. This happy guy will never be able to see 100% but he will see much more then we had thought before. As I type this he is under the desk pulling at my shoe laces.
